I feel compelled to write something because I have been very unispired lately but I think its important to try and be consistent.
I went to a going away party for a co-worker last night and I kept thinking the same thing over and over:
Work going away parties are like funerals.
However many people come to your party translates to how much you are liked. It’s a little fifth grade and I guess a little morbid to compare it to a funeral but I think it makes sense. Frankly the whole situation makes me very uncomfortable. It actually makes me WANT to start going to any radom Joe Blows going away happy hour - just to take a stand and say “I don’t really care that you are leaving but I don’t want you to feel like no one likes you!” But then I think about it and it’s coming from such a selfish place - Karma is a bitch and I don’t want it to bite me in the ass. Hopefully I’m not to late.
